Award-winning mixologist Jeret Peña was born and raised in San Antonio and is an integral part of the local food and drink renaissance. As a Bar Smarts graduate, Peña helped transform the cocktail culture at numerous local staples, including Pesca, Bohanan’s, Le Midi, The Green Lantern and the historic Esquire Tavern. He also owns some of the top cocktail spots in town, including The Brooklynite, The Last Word, Still Golden, Rumble and Tucker’s. Under Peña’s leadership, the Esquire Tavern was nominated as a James Beard Foundation Award semi-finalist for Outstanding Bar Program. He also has been featured by the likes of Imbibe Magazine, Food and Wine Magazine and the Travel Channel.
